One barbarian is great, in a group it becomes a great way to destroy the villages.
The archer is a way to destroy the air defenses, but set against a mortar, it becomes too weak.
All the people I've seen and I like to use the rule to remember archer, the Barbarian is not used much, but the barbarian is quite forgotten after they start improving the barracks.
